Why converting beats buying new
Most riders in Uganda already own a good bicycle. It is not broken; it is just slow, and hills make it hard work. A conversion kit from UGX 990,000 turns that same bicycle into an electric bike for a third of the price of a new one. You keep the frame you trust and add the motor, the battery and the app.
What it costs to run
About UGX 700 of electricity moves an electric bike 100 km. The same distance on a petrol boda boda costs around UGX 15,000 in fuel. The battery charges from any wall socket, the same one that charges your phone, so there is no special charging station to find.

How much does an electric bike cost in Uganda?
A Karaa conversion kit starts at UGX 990,000 (about $268), which turns your own bicycle into an electric bike. A complete electric bike starts at UGX 2,950,000 (about $797).
Can I convert my own bicycle to electric?
Yes. If your bicycle has 26-inch or 29-inch wheels, a sound frame and working brakes, we fit a kit to it. Send us a photo on WhatsApp and we will confirm.
How far does an electric bike go on one charge?
The Karaa Lite kit does up to 60 km per charge. The Karaa Range kit does up to 120 km, with 50 to 100 km typical in real work. Batteries are removable, so you can swap and keep riding.
Do you deliver outside Uganda?
Yes. We are based in Kampala and deliver across Africa: Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia, Tanzania, Malawi and beyond. Fleet and distributor pricing is quoted per order.
Is there a warranty?
The motor is covered for 10,000 km or one year, the battery for 500 charge cycles or one year, and complete bike frames for 5 years.
