Charge it where you charge your phone
The most common worry about electric bikes is charging. The answer is shorter than the worry: if a socket can charge your phone, it can charge your bike.
Every Karaa battery is removable. Slide it off the bike, carry it inside, and plug it into an ordinary socket at home, at work or at a trading-centre kiosk. A full charge costs about UGX 700 worth of electricity and moves you up to 120 km on the long-range battery.
There is no special infrastructure to wait for. No charging stations, no fuel queues, no jerry cans. Solar systems work too; the battery does not care where the electrons come from.
Riders who cannot afford downtime carry a second battery (UGX 825,000) and swap in seconds: one charges while the other works. That is a full working day of range for less than the price of two days of petrol on a motorcycle, every month, forever.
The same battery also runs lights, charges phones, and can power a small water pump. In places where the grid is thin, the bike is also the power bank.
