Running a delivery fleet on electricity
Ask any fleet manager where the money goes and the answer is fuel, then repairs, then losses. An electric bike fleet attacks all three lines at once.
Fuel first. Each electric bike moves 100 km on about UGX 700 of electricity against roughly UGX 15,000 of petrol. Ten bikes doing 80 km a day saves around UGX 3 million a month, arithmetic a CFO can check on the back of a delivery note.
Repairs next. No engines means no oil changes, no filters, no carburettor work. Motors are warranted for 10,000 km or a year, batteries for 500 cycles, and parts come from our Kampala workshop, not a port.
Losses last. With the tracking package on every unit, the fleet lives on one screen: position, battery, distance covered. A bike that goes missing gets its motor switched off remotely and its position logged.
Charging fits how depots already work: batteries come off the bikes at night and charge on a shelf, from ordinary sockets or the depot solar system.
