Electric bikes in Kenya, from Kampala

Kenya has more working bicycles than almost anywhere in East Africa, and a delivery economy that runs on two wheels. Karaa delivers there from Kampala: conversion kits, complete electric bikes, spare batteries, the lot.
Ordering works the same as it does at home. Message us on WhatsApp, tell us whether you are converting a bicycle you own or buying ready-built, and we quote with shipping to your town included. Kits travel easily; a Karaa Lite box weighs under 15 kg.
If your bicycle is a Buffalo, and in Kenya it often is, the fit is guaranteed: the Karaa system is compatible with every Buffalo model. Any other bicycle with 26-inch or 29-inch wheels, a sound frame and working brakes qualifies too.
The economics carry across the border. Around 20 US cents of electricity moves an electric bike 100 km; the same distance on a petrol boda costs about $4. For a Nairobi or Kisumu courier, that difference is the month’s rent.
The warranty travels with the bike: 10,000 km or one year on the motor, 500 cycles or one year on the battery. And if you sell bicycles or spares in Kenya, we are recruiting dealers now.
